TRENDY V ROZVOJI SOCIÁLNEJ EKONOMIKY NA SLOVENSKU

TRENDS IN THE DEVELOPMENT OF SOCIAL ENTERPRISE IN SLOVAKIA – a key publication from the implementation of the national project National Project Institute of Social Economy 6/2018 – 12/2023. This national project financed by EU funds in the 2014-2020 programming period marked a key period for the restart of social entrepreneurship in the Slovak Republic, primarily thanks to the approval of a separate law on social economy. On March 13, 2018, the long-awaited Act No. 112/2018 Coll. on social economy and social enterprises was approved, which created the conditions for the development of social economy and social entrepreneurship in Slovakia, named the ways of achieving socially positive social impact and the functioning of entities within the social economy (the latest amendment to the law entered into force on January 1, 2023). The publication responds to the discourse on the social economy conducted at the European level, and the term „social economy“ has appeared more and more frequently in the public policies of the European Union in the millennium period, which define the social economy as one of the tools for mitigating social inequalities, unemployment and problems of social exclusion, or as a way of functioning of the European social model.
